About Tennis At Echo Mill

Echo Mill has an extremely active tennis community. There are 5 tennis courts in the back amenity area, and 3 tennis courts in the front amenity area. Both areas have viewing pavilions for spectators and refreshments. The courts are in use year round for recreational and league play. Currently Echo Mill has ALTA teams in the Sunday Women's, Thursday Women's, Men's, Mixed Doubles, and Youth Leagues. There are aslo USTA teams in the Men's, Thursday Women's, and Youth Mixed Leagues. Many individuals also participate in privately scheduled leagues such as K-Swiss singles and T2 doubles. The tennis guidelines governing court use and league play are posted on this page (see top of page for Guidelines link).

Non-residents are not allowed to use the tennis courts unless accompanied by Echo Mill residents. Non-residents may play on Echo Mill teams provided that at least 50% of the team’s roster is Echo Mill residents. There is a mandatory, non-refundable $25 non-resident fee that is payable to the HOA for each non-resident per season.

Volunteer tennis coordinators schedule league play and facilitate tennis court maintenance. The current coordinators are listed in the Echo Mill newsletter. They may be contacted for team information, scheduling information, or maintenance concerns.

Echo Mill C5 Team

Echo Mill Tennis Players Every effort is made to accommodate both league and recreational play. Courts may only be reserved for ALTA and USTA league practices and matches. All other play is on a first come, first serve basis. League practices are scheduled so that open courts are available at the same times.

Congratulations to the Echo Mill Thursday Women’s C-5 team for winning the Fall 2007 City Finals! The team competed in a very close division tying for 2nd but ultimately placing 3rd for the season. However, with 23 points they were awarded a spot in the City playoffs and defeated one Division runner-up team and two Division winners before facing Windward in the City Final match-up. The team decisively won with Lines 1 and 2, and Line 3 players Brownie Bounds and Shannon Welch clinched the title with a 6-4/7-5 nail-biter! Way to go ladies!!

The Echo Mill Girls ALTA U12 Spring 2006 Team
The Echo Mill Girls ALTA U12 Spring 2006 Team had a successful season headed by Coach Robert Chupp and Team Manager Jeanne Deubel by winning their division (C4 Division 2) by 1 point. The girls progressed through 2 playoff matches to earn a spot in the City Finals playoffs at Dekalb Tennis Center. The girls battled rain delays throughout their city final matches and finished just 3 points shy of winning the "big plate". The girls exhibited superb sportsmanship throughout the season.
